Safe Streets for Tigard
Connecting People and Places
The city works in lots of ways to make travel in Tigard safer and more functional for everyone, but we work better, smarter, and stronger with community input.
We engage with community stakeholders and agency partners to design transportation projects, develop and implement short and long-range plans, and to obtain funding to plan and build improvements that lead to a complete transportation system.
Tigard's transportation system provides mobility and access over a broad network. Transportation planning work and project development are guided by the Transportation System Plan (TSP), and the Complete Streets policy, the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and the Strategic Plan.
Our team advances projects that complete our transportation system, ensuring Tigard’s streets and paths are accessible for all community members regardless of age or ability. The projects we implement focus on making streets safer and more reliable for people walking, biking, rolling, busing and driving.
