Safe Routes to School
Our Safe Routes to School Program is made possible with support from Metro and the Federal Transit Administration.
Safe Pedestrians, Healthy Students, Stronger Communities
The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program helps improve, educate and encourage children to safely walk, bike, roll, or bus to school!
Increased active transportation results in healthier children, reduced traffic, and, ultimately, a more robust community. The SRTS Program can benefit all schools and families through the following program goals:
- Safe Pedestrians
- Active/Healthier Students
- Less Traffic/Improved Air Quality
- Stronger Communities Working Together
Our SRTS Program is a vital part of the city's Strategic Vision: "An equitable community that is walkable, healthy, and accessible for everyone."
